By: Keene & Megan Addington, Owners

Tortoise Supper Club is one of the rare family-owned restaurants in the River North area of Chicago, founded by lifelong Chicagoans Keene and Megan Addington. In true supper club style, guests can experience classic American dishes like steaks, chops, and seafood with knowledgeable and friendly service. Everything from sauces to syrups to pie crusts are made onsite from our scratch kitchen. Menu highlights and favorites include our Friday night Salmon En Croute and our Saturday night Queen’s Cut Prime Rib.

Guests love the feeling of traveling back in time to a classic Chicago circa 1950s and 1960s. Find wood paneling from Chicago’s original Pump Room restaurant in our foyer and books from the beloved Newberry Library in our Old Hollywood style lacquered Red Room. At Tortoise you’ll find a beautiful, cozy atmosphere of old school Chicago with familiar, high-quality food. Enjoy live jazz on Friday 7:30 – 11:30 pm and Saturday 8:30 pm – midnight.

“The best example of how we wanted the restaurant to feel is embodied in the scene from “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” where Holly Go-Lightly’s cocktail party is stylish, sophisticated, and yet fun and energetic, but mostly warm and welcoming.”
