The sleek, sophisticated style of the Conrad Chicago has a stylishly decadent yet businesslike appeal that’s nothing less than inspired. Close to Chicago’s famously buzzing retail hub, the Magnificent Mile, in a building that was previously home to a major advertising agency, it seems fitting that a cool, slick, ‘Mad Men’-era interior-design style pervades the new Conrad Chicago.

The mid-century influence can be felt as soon as you enter the lobby, where a rich, 50s-inspired color palette of deep oranges and browns imparts a seductive feeling of sensuality and warmth. Finishes in leather, bronze and beech wood, plus artworks inspired by famed artists of the post-war era, such as Josef Albers, Ellsworth Kelly and Donald Judd, envelop visitors in an aura of Don-Draper-style cultured urbanity. Bold patterns and art are displayed throughout, including a stunning sculpture that features 1,300 leaves made of fine bone China suspended from the lobby ceiling. It’s all very smart, and even kind of sexy; a design language that speaks soothingly of innate style, prosperity and of being ‘back home’.

A clean, purposeful design is present in every one of the 287 guest rooms and suites. Each blends rich leather wall accents with black-granite entryways and contemporary furniture. Each room has a cushy orange couch, a desk, a supremely comfortable bed, an enormous 65-inch TV, mini fridge, glassware and a Nespresso maker. Sharp lines guide the eye directly to floor-to-ceiling windows. Minimalistic bathrooms are spacious, with black granite floors. Marble counters with two vanities are bookended with a glass-door-enclosed water closet and a walk-in shower. Some suites have freestanding soaking tubs and feature views of the spectacular skyline. Overall, the ambience is glamorous and energetic. All the spaces are intuitively laid out to give guests a feeling of comfort—like being at home.

Conrad Chicago room and suites are equipped with the latest in technology that are designed to inspire and reenergize. Our sophisticated room design allows for intuitive service upon arrival, with smart technology that provides a seamlessly comfortable stay. Feel right at home with “still in theater” movies on a 65-inch TV, a personal refrigerator and an espresso machine. Touch controls by the bed allow you to turn lights on and off and open and close the curtains. Easily connect your personal electronic devices to our Bluetooth–enabled A/V technology to fully personalize your entertainment experience. Keyless check-in is available so you may go directly to your room and use your smart phone as a key to enter.

Baptiste & Bottle Restaurant

Both locals and visitors are already flocking to the stylish drinking and dining options on offer, including the hotel’s signature restaurant Baptiste & Bottle. More than a “hotel restaurant,” the cuisine is American and offers a very strong cocktail menu. If you like bourbon and good food, there’s no need to leave the hotel for drinks and dinner. Baptiste & Bottle, located on the 20th floor, is bursting with bourbon-fueled energy. The restaurant/bar serves 100 different whiskies and excels at tableside cocktails. Bartenders push around a cart and create Instagram-worthy drinks with flames and smoke. Start the meal with the bone marrow and oxtail marmalade, and then indulge in a massive chive and lemon biscuit before finally digging into the perfectly seared scallops and prime New York strip steak. In the summer, the Japanese restaurant, Noyane, serves sushi and sake on the rooftop.

Noyane, the Conrad’s Rooftop Restaurant, offers spectacular city views.
