Color in the New Era: Trends, Twists and Tweaks

Monday, March 4, 2019
Noon – 1 p.m.
Room S100, South Building

A view of future color and design forecasts for 2020 reveals a fascinating dichotomy as a new era brings some novel approaches to color and design. A kaleidoscopic of colors twists into patterns or combinations that are authentic and real while other palettes may seem somewhat surreal or out-of-the-ordinary. This new era reinforces the notion that muted and vibrant tones can co-exist, or that a traditional style, especially when tweaked with futuristic touches, brings an unusual and original approach to a product or an interior.

Most importantly, fulfilling consumers’ needs often means providing a sense of the familiar, while adding a contemporary or unique perspective that engages their attention and heightens their interest, encouraging them to make a purchase.

Join Leatrice (Lee) Eiseman, recently named as one of HFN’s Inspiring Women in Home, as she explains and illustrates the color/design forecast for the new era.

Color/Texture/Finish: Back to the Future

Tuesday, March 5, 2019
Noon – 1 p.m.
Room S100, South Building

Have consumer color preferences altered greatly in the past 20 years and, if so, how will this affect the future in 2020 and beyond? This seminar, presented by IHA color/design forecaster Leatrice (Lee) Eiseman, will show the growing acceptance of specific variations within each color family that have been important in the recent past and how that is helping to shape future color directions. Both texture and finish will also be illustrated as they play a vital part in the growing importance of color.
