Housewares Charity Foundation Donates to Hurricane Relief Efforts
ROSEMONT, Ill. (September 19, 2017)—The Housewares Charity Foundation (HCF) is donating $100,000 to the American Red Cross with the funds allocated to assisting victims of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma, the HCF board announced today.
“The collective thoughts and prayers of the housewares industry have been with the residents of Texas and Florida the last few weeks, and these disasters have affected our colleagues in these states as well,” said Phil Brandl, HCF co-chair and president/CEO of the International Housewares Association. “The industry comes together for charitable giving through the Housewares Charity Foundation and we are grateful to be able to help the Red Cross during this time of crisis.”
Since its inception 20 years ago, the Housewares Charity Foundation has raised more than $49 million for renowned charities and has been credited with donating more than $28 million to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, its legacy charity. Through the years, HCF has also made donations to the Red Cross during national crises, including Hurricane Katrina and September 11th.
The Housewares Charity Foundation will host its 21st annual gala March 12, 2018 at Navy Pier in Chicago. For more information about the HCF, its honorees and its charities, please visit www.housewares.org/show/charity or contact Paul Murphy at 508.272.0717 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
