Adaptive Creations Group, LLC is a new company dedicated to developing creative ideas for better living. ACG is introducing two new patent pending inventions.
The first is the ACG Hands-Free Support System that is assistive technology, also known as an adaptive device, to resolve significant drinking and eating problems for adults and children at home and in healthcare facilities suffering from neuromuscular diseases (e.g., Parkinson’s, Muscular Dystrophy, Multiple Sclerosis, Cerebral Palsy, ALS, etc.), stroke, dementia, birth defects, visual impairments, burns, traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, and those with upper extremity injuries or amputations.
The Hands-Free System uses a combination of commercially available camera support accessories for attaching the device to dining room tables, wheelchairs or IV poles with five different adjustment points. A customized C Clamp is used for attaching to dining room and other tables. Other accessories can attach cellphones/tablets; books, a snack tray that can also support a computer notebook (e.g., Chromebook, Surface, etc.), and a full-size food tray that can also hold a laptop. The drink holder can hold containers up to three inches in diameter, with a reducer for smaller nutritional drinks, water bottles, or cans.
While primarily designed for the disabled, the same Hands-Free System will be helpful for anyone who needs to use both hands for other tasks, including gamers, musicians, cooks, artists, computer users, and industrial workers.
The second invention is the ACG Universal Blender Tamper to encourage increased preparation of healthy Smoothies and other nutritious drinks and foods. Hundreds of millions of standard food blenders are designed with a single blade at the bottom that frequently creates air pockets so that food remains above the level of the blade.
This requires insertion of kitchen objects, such as a wooden spoon, to push the food down, often thereby hitting the spinning blade. The Tamper length can be adjusted between five and eight inches for virtually every brand and model of these blenders with a locking telescoping section that stops one inch above the blade for safety. Curved longitudinal fins and four “feet” will help stir and push food toward the spinning mixing blade to break up the air pocket, and an ergonomic handle is included.
The Tamper is a “J Hook” product for hanging display at supermarkets, retail chains (e.g., Walmart, Bed, Bath & Beyond, Kohl’s, Restaurant Depot, etc.), Amazon, eBay, the Company’s website, and through television promotion (e.g., Home Shopping Network, QVC, infomercials, etc.).
