Six talented industrial design students will kickstart their careers during the International Home + Housewares Show March 15-18 in Chicago. They will introduce their concepts for future products that solve real world problems and learn about the dynamic housewares industry during the Show’s four exciting days.

Five of the six winners created products that “make a difference” in the lives of people with vision or mobility challenges. The sixth top project is a stylish and sustainable household cleaning product.

In a rigorous review process, a panel of 10 educators, product development managers at IHA-member companies and a top national retailer, design consultants and a recruiter judged submissions from 30 U.S. and international universities. The competition requires that entrants describe concept development, user and market research, provide sketches and engineering drawings and show 3D models in use.

The winners will be demonstrating their models and visiting with industry professionals at the student competition display in the Hall of Global Innovation, Lakeside Center lobby level 3 at Chicago’s McCormick Place.
