Opus solves laundry organization and transport problems by recognizing that the product might have two users of different ages: a young person who produces dirty laundry and an older person who washes the clothes. Fun for children, it hangs in a closet or sits on a floor, yet respects the needs of a caregiver to gather and sort laundry without bending over. The frame folds for safe and easy one-hand carrying and fits below the dryer door. The bag is machine washable.

Judges’ comments:

  • Great approach to problem definition and opportunity spotting
  • Demonstrates sensitivity to user needs and human factors
  • Thorough market analysis, observation, fine sketch work
