> Global Economy, Future of Retail Headline CHESS 2010 Agenda
  • "The Emerging Global Economy: The Future of Sourcing & Commerce" and "The Future of Retail 2015" are two of the keynote sessions set for the Chief Housewares Executive SuperSession, a senior-level conference for industry decision-makers, October 6-7, The Intercontinental O'Hare, Rosemont, Ill.

  • Breakout sessions will cover "Service Merchandising Solutions for Retail Success" and "Growing Sales with Independent Retailers."

> Products Wanted for Good Housekeeping is VIP Awards
  • The Good Housekeeping Research Institute is searching for products to review for its 2011 VIP (Very Innovative Product) Awards which will be announced in our February 2011 issue.

  • All submissions should be for products that were, or will be, introduced during 2010 and that are highly innovative, offer solutions to everyday problems, and/or are ground breaking.

  • Submissions will be accepted through the end of August but the sooner you submit, the better.

> Scripps Producer Seeks Product for Morning TV Segments
  • Dianne DiGregorio, a producer with Scripps Productions, the in-house production company for HGTV, DIY, GAC and Food Network, is looking for product to feature on several spots she is producing over the next year for of CBS's Good Morning America, NBC's Early Show and possibly Regis and Kelly. 

  • The spots will feature DIY Network hosts with tips and ideas and new products.  This is a win- win for everyone, the networks get free content, and you and DIY get free national airtime.

> Return Your 2011 Space Application by June 25
  • Space applications were mailed to all 2010 Show exhibitors and prospective exhibitors in mid-May. The deadline to return the application is June 25. Companies that return their applications before the deadline will receive a discount of $.50/sq foot on the space rate.

  • This year, 2010 exhibitors can complete their space application online through a link provided in the cover letter.
