ROSEMONT, ILL. (January 29, 2008)—Celebrity chefs, including well-known Food Network TV personalities Alton Brown, Paula Deen and Cat Cora, will showcase their culinary skills in the GOHO Cooking Theater during the 2008 International Home + Housewares Show to be held March 16-18 at Chicago’s McCormick Place.

The GOHO Cooking Theater is the focal point of the Gourmet Home + Food District (GOHO), home to the Show’s fastest growing section. On hand will be exhibitors of specialty and gourmet treats and the tools used to prepare them. GOHO also features the NASFT Specialty Foods Marketplace. The Cooking Theater is jointly sponsored by All-Clad Metalcrafters LLC, KitchenAid and Wilton Products, with all food supplies provided by Whole Foods Market.

Cooking Theater Hosts The Stars
The GOHO Cooking Theater will feature chef demonstrations beginning at 9:45 a.m. each Show day. The current line includes such well-known celebrity chefs as Alton Brown, Paula Deen, Todd English, Cat Cora, Rocco DiSpirito, Michael Chiarello and Ming Tsai. Also included are those national celebrity chefs who call Chicago home, including Rick Bayless and Gale Gand, and the new batch of TV chefs born from Top Chef fame including Dale Levitski and Tre Wilcox.:

In addition to appearing in the Cooking Theater, Paula Deen will present the keynote address at 7:30 a.m. Sunday morning in Room S100/Grand Ballroom in the South Building.

“We are pleased to host these well-known chefs who support this year’s exhibitors of gourmet specialty foods in The GOHO District,” said Phil Brandl, president of the International Housewares Association, the Show’s sponsor. “Our buyer audience has told us that they appreciate being able to shop the gourmet foods category in conjunction with the visit to the Show. This category offers traditional homegoods retailers a significant additional sales and profit opportunity.”

To make GOHO a must-visit destination again in 2008, the National Association for the Specialty Food Trade (NASFT) will host its Specialty Food Marketplace. Buyers will be able to receive follow up information on all products.

The 2008 International Home + Housewares Show will feature more than 2,100 exhibitors from around the world, including 400 new companies, showcasing home goods, gourmet specialty foods and housewares products for every room in the home, inside and out.
