The International Housewares Association (IHA) is committed to maximizing the success of the home products industry. IHA provide the world-class show marketplace, the International Home + Housewares Show, facilitation of global commerce, industry market data and facilitation of industry standards.
The Association is guided by long-range planning. The result of that is a definitive action plan, which is summarized in the following five-point mission statement.
The first point of the renewed mission is to provide a world-class home products marketplace. Our primary mission is to connect buyers and sellers. We seek to maximize and preserve the value of the International Home + Housewares Show by establishing this Show as the premier global marketplace for home products.
Our second goal is to facilitate global commerce and the buyer-seller interface. Through missions to countries around the globe introducing IHA members to retailers and selected pavilion opportunities, we strive to strengthen member exposure to key global commerce opportunities.
The most exciting and challenging element of our new plan is to increase consumer awareness and interest in home products. We will employ social media and a broader reach to the new world of consumer influencers, coupled with our long-standing successes with traditional media, to bring the message of the industry's innovation and creativity to the broadest possible range of consumers.
Our fourth strategic goal is to gather and disseminate essential marketplace intelligence. We will seek to provide critical information and analysis on marketplace trends. We will use current tools such the State of the Industry Report, Housewares MarketWatch and IHA Gourmet Home and will seek to develop new tools to better define trends that affect our industry and its constituencies.
Our fifth goal is to educate and support key constituencies to help improve their success. By making full use of current tools, such as the annual CHESS conference and trade missions, and the now free access to our CORE member share groups and the IHA International Business Council [formerly HECNA], we hope to better prepare industry participants to do business profitably.
The Association has also worked to define the values that drive the efforts of the team at IHA.
We believe that clarity of vision, purpose and mission are paramount. The four key disciplines that guide our work are Value: maximizing customer return on investment; Service: proactively exceeding customer needs and expectations; Integrity: being honest, open and fair; and Stability: ensuring the strength of the organization.Â Our staff works diligently to observe and live by these disciplines.
