A primary component of the IHA Government Affairs Programs is its member grassroots network, or Key Contact Program. Key Contacts (KCs) are IHA members from all regions of the country, and all segments of the housewares industry, who can be called on from time-to-time to personally contact their elected federal officials to advocate IHA's position on important legislative issues. Key Contacts are provided issue briefs, sample letters, background information and other useful communications tools that can support and strengthen the KCs advocacy activities.

Key contacts also serve as industry experts who are able to provide government officials "real life" perspectives on the benefits, or consequences, of proposed legislative or regulatory issues.
