Almacenes Flamingo was founded 59 years ago by two brothers who began by selling men’s clothing. Since that time, Almacenes Flamingo has grown to become one of Colombia’s largest and best positioned retailers with six department stores open today. From the beginning, the founders decided to develop an image among its customers of affinity and social responsibility. This orientation was the foundation for creating multiple credit and lay away programs to clearly meet the needs of their more than 500,000 clients.
Flamingo used the opening of new stores in 2007 and 2008 to have intensive marketing campaigns and promotional events in order to motivate current and potential customers to visit the new locations. Flamingo’s homegoods and housewares departments have also grown in the last few years to meet their customers’ changing needs and expectations.
