J.C. Penney has re-emerged as a trend-setting housewares retailer. Under the guidance of housewares merchandising veterans Charles Chinni and Tony Graziosi, J.C. Penney has gone from having virtually no significant housewares presence in its full-line department stores to featuring one of the industry’s strongest housewares offerings through a refashioned in-store program supported by an even broader program via catalog and the Internet. With a keen focus on presenting the top-selling products and national brands, J.C. Penney also is credited as being very open to new products and designs, often times getting the exclusive retail launch on the newest products from some of the top brands in housewares.
