KEYNOTE: TIME OF CRISIS, TIME OF OPPORTUNITIES: The great recession lingers and a lackluster recovery is adding uncertainty to the economic outlook. The U.S. economy will bounce back, but a deep transformation in business practices will sort the winners from the losers in the new economic order.
Adolfo Laurenti will reveal his roadmap of the structural changes that he sees coming in the global economy and will show how new realities will impact consumer and retailers in countries outside the United States.
He will demonstrate what housewares manufacturers must do to sell into emerging global consumer markets and to know where to look for new sourcing partnerships.
Biography:
In his capacity at Mesirow Financial, Adolfo Laurenti works alongside Chief Economist Diane Swonk to develop ongoing economic research and commentary. Laurenti is the author of Themes on the Global Markets, a monthly newsletter providing insight into trends, issues and the forecast for the global economy. He previously served as associate economist at LaSalle Bank/ABN AMRO.
Laurenti regularly speaks on current economic trends to professional groups and trade associations across the country, is a guest lecturer at Northwestern’s Medill School of Journalism and was an Earhart Foundation Fellow in 2002.
Laurenti graduated from Bocconi University Business School in Milan, Italy…specialized in Industrial Organization in Copenhagen, Denmark…and specialized in Financial Economics in Budapest, Hungary. He received a Master’s degree in Economics and pursued doctoral studies at George Mason University.
His affiliations include membership in the National and Chicago Associations for Business Economics.
