LUNCHEON SPEAKER: SOCIAL MEDIA—Myth or Magic Bullet?
There are more than one billion people on social networks. So what? You've heard the hype about social media and you know that it's neither free nor easy or you'd have it figured out by now. The question still remains: Is it worth it? The cold truth is that if your sales or marketing isn't working now, social media can't fix it.
Luncheon speaker Sima Dahl, social marketing expert and author, will debunk the top social media myths and give you the straight talk you need to assess whether embracing a social media strategy makes sense for your business. In addition to exploring industry best practices for customer engagement and channel communications, Dahl will share with you her top strategies for turning a sales force into a lead generating machine on LinkedIn.
You'll leave with actionable tips that you can bring back to the office and implement immediately.
When Sima Dahl graduated from the University of Illinois and started climbing the ladder at a Fortune 500 company, she soon learned a hard lesson not often taught in school—the importance of a strong personal brand and professional network. Throughout her 20-year professional career in marketing and sales, she worked hard to develop these invaluable corporate skills. Today, she is well known for her Sway Factor™ system for social networking success and is one of the most sought-after thought-leaders in the industry.
In 2008, Dahl launched Parlay focusing on business through digital marketing, branding communications and the social web. She is known for her high-energy, no-nonsense approach to utilizing tools like LinkedIn and Facebook to forge a unique personal brand, create a strong professional network and encourage business referrals. Through her keynotes, corporate coaching and sales training, Dahl has helped hundreds of business owners, thought leaders and rainmakers learn the art of online networking.
In June 2011, she published her first book, a multi-author guide entitled "Make Your Connections Count", in which top experts show readers how to generate more referrals through networking. Her second book on the Sway Factor™ system for social networking is due later this year.
